Sugar free nutella gut strengthening protein bliss balls

 

Hi everyone,

So Melrose Health was kind enough to send me a hamper of their delicious nut butters and coconut oil so I decided to get creative!

They have a variety of nut based spreads such as Almond and Chia, Hazelnut and ABC (almond, brazil and cashew), amongst others!

I figured it wouldn’t make any sense for me to not create chocolate-hazelnut flavoured concoctions when I had these ingredients staring me in the face….the resulting bliss balls that were made were absolutely delicious (according to my trusty taste-testers!)!

As always, the recipe is:

  • Low glycemic load
  • High protein
  • Sugar free
  • Prebiotic fibre rich
  • Resistant starch rich
  • Antioxidant packed

And incase you need them to be, they are also:

  • Gluten free
  • Dairy free (dependent on the protein powder you use)
  • Grain free

Ingredients:

1/4 cup Melrose Health organic hazelnut spread

1/4 cup Crio Bru cacao

30g Chocolate protein powder

1 tsp Natural Evolution Foods green banana resistant starch

1 tbsp Natvia (stevia and erythritol mix)

1 tbsp Vitafiber prebiotic liquid sweetener

1 tbsp softened Melrose Health coconut oil

1/2 tsp vanilla essence

Dash of salt

Decorations: desiccated coconut

Method:

  1. Place all ingredients in a high speed blender (make sure you put the nut butter in first to ensure everything blends smoothly.
  2. Roll into balls and cover in coconut
  3. Place in fridge to harden slightly
  4. Enjoy!
